10 tips for success

In my practice, I come across different types of companies and brands. From newly founded, smaller, medium-sized to large. Each brand often deals with the question of how to gain or increase awareness. However, depending on its size and current needs, it needs to address it in a different way.

Today, I'm going to share with you the 10 most important steps you should take before you start communicating anything to achieve success with your brand.

Back when I was at university, we thought that we live in a turbulent environment. Today, 15 years later, the situation is even more dynamic in my view. Especially because in online world we are always online. We don't go anywhere without our mobile phones anymore as we are so much used to them. So let's see, how many of you even go to the bathroom with a mobile phone? :) Believe me, there are many of us... :)

10 tips for success

What should you pay attention to when you need to increase awareness of your brand?

1. What is your vision?

It sounds like a cliché, but it's really important. When you know your vision, you know where you're going and you act accordingly. Based on your vision, develop a strategy, goals and action steps. Make sure the goals are realistic and SMART, i.e.

  • Specific

  • Measurable

  • Achievable

  • Realistic

  • Timely / trackable

2. What is your market

The first step to successful marketing is understanding the market you are operating in. If you understand your customers, know your competitors, know how prices are moving in the market, what services are most popular and why, what services are not at all, what works well, etc., this will help you create an effective marketing strategy that is tailored to your brand.

3. Who are my target customers

One of the first questions every business should ask for their brand is who their target customers are. In order to gain awareness, you need to focus your communication correctly because it's not just what you say, but to whom. Because if you broadcast information to everyone, you won't really reach anyone.

Know your customers' needs and interests. The better you understand your audience, the more effectively you can communicate. Plus, a personalized approach to customers creates a strong connection and builds trust.

4. Budget and time

In all my experience, I have never known a single brand (even if it was big and international) that could afford to waste its budget. However, when we think of a small brand, or an emerging one, the initial amount of capital is usually small, making it all the more important to think carefully about where to spend the funds properly. Because in the initial phase, you need both money and time. Nothing happens overnight.

5. Create a strong branding identity

A brand is much more than just a logo. It's the story, the values and the services you offer your customers. Create a strong branding identity that sets you apart from your competitors and attracts attention.

6. What is your competitive advantage?

It helps brands to differentiate themselves from competitors to build awareness. When a brand differentiates itself, it has a better chance of success. Target specific customers who need and want your products.

7. Create engaging content

Focus on what makes your brand unique and create a story. Communicate it across all channels according to strategy, time and budget. Content should be engaging and add value to customers.

8. Communicate online

Regularly update your website, communicate on the social media platforms your customers are on. Social networking is an essential part of any successful marketing strategy today. Regularly share relevant content, interact with your audience and build a community.

An active social media presence will not only increase your visibility, but also allow you to make personal connections with your target audience.

9. The right timing

Think carefully about the timing of your campaigns throughout the year before you start. Think about when is your target audience most active and in need of your products? Also give yourself plenty of time to prepare. It takes a different amount of preparation for social media communications, a different amount for radio, outdoor advertising, etc. Plus, each marketing channel is differently flexible. Online you can change and add immediately, for TV advertising or outdoor you can't...

10. Repeating mother wisdom

Awareness is not gained by a single campaign, but by regular repetition...

Success in marketing is more than just executing the steps correctly. It's a complex process that requires strategy, planning, and above all, the right timing. But when you follow the right steps, it's only a matter of time before success comes - and it's worth it.
